Tenets,
Doctrines, and Practices
The
Primary Tenets, Doctrines, and Practices of the Society are these:
Primary
Tenets:
1)
We believe that a divine, unifying Consciousness creates and sustains this universe,
and that this universe operates according to Cosmic Law, which we understand
as:
2)
We believe that the Divine Consciousness has created the cosmos in which we
are currently focused, and that this cosmos is wholly made of unified, conscious
Light. We believe that the physical universe is part of that cosmos, and our
individual experience is part of that physical universe. Therefore, each
level of Cosmic Law informs and affects the other levels.
3)
We believe that this universe is designed as a playground for the purposes
of spiritual expansion and growth, and that living in alignment with Cosmic
Law is the most effective and enjoyable way to foster this expansion and
growth.
4)
We believe that we choose to incarnate in physical form in this Universe,
and that we, as incarnate human beings, are first and foremost spiritual
beings seeking expansion and growth through alignment with the Divine
Unifying Consciousness and Cosmic Law.
5)
We believe that all beings and things are part of the Divine Unifying
Consciousness and must be treated as such, as each one is critical to the divine
intention.
6)
We believe that each being and thing in this universe, as part of the Divine
Unifying Consciousness, possesses sovereign free will.
7)
We believe that alignment with the Divine Unifying Consciousness during our
incarnation in this physical universe consists of remaining in conscious service
to the Light, and in alignment with Cosmic Law. “Conscious Service to the
Light” means that we choose to think, speak, and act in accordance with
the following creed:
My
actions are based on the intention to magnify Light. Therefore, I act with
respect for the Sovereignty of all Beings and Things in this Universe of
Light, in alignment with Cosmic Law, and do not perform acts which are
intended to be destructive, detractive, or diminishing of the Light (Life
Force) in any form.
Primary
Doctrine of the Society
We
believe that the Divine Unifying Consciousness (as expressed through this
physical universe) intends that this universe be used as a tool for the
process of expansion and growth, and that our use of sovereign free will in
alignment with our definition of Conscious Service to the Light and Cosmic
Law always results in expansion and growth.
We believe in the following understanding of Cosmic Law as expressed in this
physical universe:
1.
At the Level of the Divine Unifying Consciousness:
-
Everything
in this Universe is Light (Energy).
-
All
of this Light is Conscious and Alive.
-
All
of this Light is ultimately the Same Light.
2.
At the Level of the Individuated Soul Consciousness:
-
In
this universe, the Law of Sovereignty is balanced by the Law of Karma:
-
Individual
Sovereignty results from the ultimate unity of all things. Each being
(from the largest nebula down to the smallest subatomic particle and
beyond) possesses sovereign free will, because they are part of the
Divine Unifying Consciousness, which is the ultimate Free Will.
Therefore:
-
Each
being who enters the construct of individuated identity in this
Universe does so by choice.

Each
being who enters the construct of individuated identity in this
Universe possesses, by divine right, Sovereign Free Will, and
may act in any manner that they wish with their individual
energy.
-

Karma exists as a result of the ultimate unity of all things. Since
each being is a part of the Divine Unifying Consciousness, all acts
toward another are essentially acts toward the Self, and will
eventually be experienced as such in some form.
-
All
acts result in Karmic return. Karma provides educational
opportunities that direct us to become aware of both our
alignment and misalignment with the whole body of Cosmic Law and
the Divine Intent for expansion and growth in this Universe.

Karma
allows us to see ourselves in other beings and constructs, and
to develop compassionate recognition of our One-ness.
-
In
this Universe, the Law of Authenticity is balanced by the Law of
Reflection.
-
Each
being (with all its aspects) is uniquely necessary to the Divine
Intention, and is essential to the integrity of the Whole.
-
In
order for the Universe to be most aligned with Divine Intent for
expansion and growth, all aspects of each being must be
authentically brought forth in alignment with Cosmic Law and
Conscious Service to the Light.
-
The
Law of Reflection, like the Law of Karma, provides opportunities for
us to see the parts of ourselves that we are bringing forth
authentically and the parts that we are suppressing or
disowning.
-
In
this Universe, the Law of Equal Energy Exchange and Agreement
naturally results from the Laws of Sovereignty and Authenticity
-
In
order to be sustainable, all energy exchange must be:
-
Consensual
(In Alignment with Free Will/Sovereignty)
-
Equalized
(In Alignment with Karma)
-
Authentic
(In Alignment with Authenticity)
3.
At the Level of the Individuated Physical
Consciousness:
In
this Universe, Power and Responsibility are Inseparable, and each
individuated being has power over, and therefore, responsibility for:

Everything
They Think
-
Everything
They Speak
-
Everything
They Do
We
have observed that these Cosmic Laws are evident in our experience, in the
natural physical world, and appear to be borne out in emerging studies in
physics. These are some of the ways in which we authenticate our
understanding of these Cosmic Laws.
We
believe that these laws are interdependent and cyclic in their cause and
effect. We experience that when we choose to think, speak, and act in
alignment with all of them, we create expansion, growth, enjoyment, and
fulfillment.
Primary
Disciplines and Practices:
Because
we believe that alignment with these Cosmic Laws results in growth,
expansion, enjoyment and fulfillment, we agree, as participants, members, or
ministers of the Society of Conscious Service, to practice the following
behaviors and disciplines in order to bring our lives into alignment with
these tenets and doctrines:
We
agree that we will:
-
Strive
to think, speak, and act in alignment with Cosmic Law in all our
affairs.
-
Actively
utilize our experience to expand and grow in accordance with our
understanding of the Divine Intent of this Universe.
-
Actively
participate in forms of living and interacting that reflect our desire
to live in cooperation with all beings in ways which are in Conscious
Service to the Light and in alignment with Cosmic Law, by:

Acting
in alignment with our understanding that, because we are choosing to
incarnate within a system of enfolded intelligences and Cosmic Law,
that we have a responsibility to serve:

First,
the Divine Intention, which encompasses:
-
Second,
the Welfare of the Self, and,
-
Third,
the Welfare of other Beings
-
Honoring
the Sovereignty of ourselves and other beings.
-
Practicing
Authenticity with ourselves and in our relationships with all
beings.
-
Maintaining
Equal Exchange in our relationships.
-
Choosing
to take power only where we will also take responsibility, and
refraining from taking responsibility where we do not have power.
-
Willingly
embracing our power and responsibility for all of our thoughts,
words, and deeds.
-
Choose
to honor the sovereignty of others to believe as they believe, and
manifesting others who wish to join us in exploration and celebration of
our beliefs only through the mechanism of invitation, rather than
through proselytizing.
As
practitioners and members of the Society of Conscious Service, we agree to
strive to think, speak, and act in alignment these tenets, doctrines, and
disciplines in our day-to-day lives, and agree to welcome insight and
encouragement from other Society participants and members to realign our
actions, thoughts, and speech, if they perceive that we have strayed from
these tenets, doctrines, and disciplines.
